John is from El Paso, Texas and moved to the Alamo City where he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Leos felt the culture at Las Palmas was his calling. He began at the elementary school 15 years ago and has a passion for preparing his students for the real world.
"Kindergarten is the best and most important area to teach in a student's education. With the right foundation and skills, scholars will be successful throughout high school."
As for being nominated Teacher of the Year, Leos says it's a great feeling. "This means your peers think highly of your craft. I have great administrators who motivate each of us and I'm proud to be representing this school."
