EISD Teacher Virtual Learning

Edgewood ISD has all of the tools that educators need to teach online! Online teaching can be done both synchronously or asynchronously in a virtual environment using SeeSaw (PK-5th) and Microsoft Teams (6th - 12th). Instruction can be scheduled so that educators can facilitate learning and create engaging collaborative environments. Students will have opportunities to complete independent study as well as virtual assignments.


We will use Office 365 and SeeSaw Learning Journal to achieve our virtual learning goals!   


PK-5th grade will be utilizing SeeSaw Learning Journal for asynchronous learning

PK-12th grade will engage in Microsoft Teams for synchronous learning - meeting virtually at the same time. 



General Learning Tips & Tools

All teachers and students will access the district digital resources via Classlink. Teachers should ensure that all students can and know how to log into ClassLink.  For easy access, a ClassLink button has been added to the Edgewood ISD website under the student tab. 

What Tools Do I Need to Teach Online?

A district-issued laptop will be issued to ensure educators have an Internet-ready device with a web camera, microphone, and Microsoft Office.
If your computer does not already have it installed, download Microsoft Teams. 

How Do I Communicate with Students? 

Communication with Elementary students will be conducted via the campus administrator’s preferred communication software such as ClassDojo,  SeeSaw, or Remind. Secondary teachers will communicate with their students via Office 365 Teams and Email. Teachers are not allowed to communicate with students via private texting, personal email or any other private method aside from a district approved app. If a campus needs additional support establishing this method, Instructional Technology can assist.

How Do I Share Instructional Materials and Resources?

Upon designation from your campus Principal, engaging lessons can be shared in SeeSaw and Microsoft Teams. Online instruction will begin on a designated day by Academics, please do not act independently outside of these guidelines.

Edgewood ISD pays for and vets the TexQuest Resources such as Britannica, WorldBook Online, Gale Infobits, and other Gale Resources, Learn360, National Geographic and any other resources in student Classlink dashboards. 

Do Students Have Access to Digital Books? 


Yes, all staff and students have access to the district’s Follett eBooks, Sora Overdrive (add San Antonio Public Library), and Tumblebooks (Elementary only) via Classlink. Free resources such as Epic in which teachers can assign books to students are also welcomed.
