Since the first bell rang for the 2024-2025 school year, supporters continue to stock the shelves at Edgewood ISD campuses. Thanks to several generous donations, students across the district will have all they need to keep learning.
The Perales STEAM Roadrunners are racing in to learning with a school supply donation from the South Texas Ford Truck Mafia and Mac Haik’s Southway Ford. Principal Jorge Medrano considers this support to be an investment in the community.
“It helps our families by creating one less stress for them this time of year,” says Medrano. “As for teachers, there are several teachers who buy supplies for their students, knowing their needs. Teachers always invest in supplies for their students, and this donation will help.”
The Texas YES Project donated boxes of supplies to the Las Palmas Leadership School for Girls. Each student in kindergarten through 5th grade received a box of school supplies, complete with pencils, crayons, folders and glue sticks.
Students at Roosevelt DLA are dressed for success thanks to a uniform donation from the Women of AT&T San Antonio. These new uniforms will help students be confident and give them the esteem boost they need to tackle challenges in the classroom.
“These new uniforms will help our students feel like they are part of the culture here and that they are a RDLA Falcon,” says Principal Martha Esquivel. “Knowing they can come to school with a brand-new uniform excels the emotional part of learning. We see such a difference in students when they walk in, and they are so appreciative.”
All EISD schools also received school supplies from the Edgewood ISD School Board of Trustees. The trustees provided the school supplies as a way to show their ongoing support of all students from their very first year of school to the day they cross the stage as a graduate.
The supplies and uniforms are just some of the many generous donations EISD has received from our community. If you would like to donate or support a campus, contact the EISD Family Engagement Department at 210-898-2068.
